Hyndburn Community Mental Health Team is a busy CMHT based in Accrington Lancashire. The team composition includes mental health social workers, nurses, occupational therapy and support workers. This post is for a mental health social worker in secondary care working with people with a severe and enduring mental illness. The successful applicant would gain experience in a broad spectrum of mental disorder within a cohesive and supportive environment. The CMHT works closely with crisis resolution home treatment, assertive outreach and early intervention teams. There is opportunity for ongoing training within Lancashire County Council and Lancashire Care Trust along with practice teacher and ASW practice assessor opportunities. Hyndburn is a multi cultural urban community. Research and Strategic Intelligence Manager
Elevate is one of nine Housing Market Renewal pathfinders, charged with revitalising failing housing markets in former mill towns in what is now called Pennine Lancashire. The project began in 2003 and will last 10 to 15 years. To date, Elevate has attracted £167million of government funding to the housing market renewal programme and levered in another £13million of additional public sector funding to the area. To bring about and sustain more balanced housing markets requires understanding and activity on a wider agenda. Elevate is working with a broad range of public and private sector partners – including the local authorities of Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle and Rossendale, and Lancashire County Council - to improve economic, environmental and social prospects for the area to make Pennine Lancashire a place where people choose to live, work, visit and relax. Underpinning the success achieved so far is a talented, committed, enthusiastic and knowledgable team working together to make things happen. A new post of Research and Strategic Intelligence Manager has been created to lead and manage Elevate’s newly established research and intelligence function working across the organisation at a senior level. The role will involve overseeing research, analysis and interpretation and helping inform business planning and performance management processes. This role involves partnership working and collaboration locally, regionally and with other Pathfinder areas. In addition a new collaborative working arrangement has been developed in respect of our strategic intelligence capacity between Elevate and Lancashire County Council. This arrangement enables Elevate’s strategic intelligence function to operate as part of a wider research and intelligence team maximizing opportunities for sharing resources and expertise. This is a rare opportunity to join this organisation and we are seeking applications from individuals who can work on their own initiative, possess strong communication skills and be able to inform and influence business planning and decision making through the provision of accurate and quality evidence, data and intelligence. We are looking for an individual with practical research skills and experience of providing information using strategic intelligence to shape and influence policy and business planning. Skills: *Support on-going business planning and policy development, identifying specific research areas, analysing policy options and making recommendations as appropriate. *Provide robust and appropriate performance management information. *Manage the work and personal development of Elevate’s Data Analyst. *Manage individual research projects including the appointment, engagement and liaison with external consultants as appropriate. *Further develop the Local Intelligence System and other systems as appropriate providing forecasts, comparisons and reviews, including socio-demographic/economic information to support both Housing Market Renewal and Local Enterprise Growth Initiative activities. *Work collaboratively with Pennine Lancashire Local Authority Research Teams to develop Elevate’s research and strategic intelligence function. *Build and maintain effective relationships with other HMR research teams key stakeholder organisations (e.g. Homes and Communities Agency). *Engage with external agencies, including Government Departments, in respect of providing on-going information and data accurately and efficiently. You will be a self motivated individual who understands ‘the bigger picture’ and will pro-actively work across Elevate and its partners to develop and provide an effective research and intelligence function. Whilst a knowledge within the sector would be advantageous, an individual with experience of research and intelligence linked to policy development and business planning coupled with a thirst to learn new skills would also be a strong candidate.
