HR Manager
VT are currently looking for a HR Manager to be responsible for the provision of an operational HR advice and support service and to implement people strategy across VT Land Transport. Based in Aldershot with travel around the Salisbury plain area. Car. This senior HR role reports to the HR Director and is responsible for a HR Advisor and 2 HR Administrators. He/she will look after approx. 500 employees. KEY DUTIES: Operational Management 1. Provision of HR support, guidance and coaching to Managers in all people related matters including performance management, disciplinary and grievance etc. 2. Co-ordination, management and development of the Land Transport HR Team. 3. Manage the provision of monthly HR reports, analyse trends and propose appropriate courses of action. 4. Management and co-ordination of all absence management activities 5. To monitor the performance development review process and provide a quality assurance process 6. To undertake projects in support of the Land HR function as directed. Performance Management 1. To work with contract Managers and Directors to identify opportunities to improve business performance and in association with the HR Director, to develop and implement effective solutions Recruitment 1. Co-ordination of all recruitment and recruitment related activities Reward 1. The consultation for and negotiation of the annual pay reviews. 2. Manage the provision of advice and guidance to staff and management regarding salaries and benefits. Employee Relations 1. To undertake consultation and negotiation with the Trade Unions. 2. Management and co-ordination of all employee relations activities in accordance with the VT people policies and procedures manual Business Development 1. To provide specialist HR input/support to Business Development and Commercial departments Administration 1. To manage and co-ordinate the provision of an effective HR administration service 2. Ensure HR data accuracy, integrity and management in line with data protection requirements This is a generalist role but the Candidate will be an employment law advisor to both management and staff.
