TPD Scientist We are currently looking for a Technical Process Development Scientist to join a leading diagnostics company in Kent. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF ROLE: To undertake technical investigations relating to the production of Diagnostic products: This may include investigating and developing new processes, reformulating product, new product development, stability testing, validation and generation of Production documentation. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Required to organise and conduct investigations into processes, reagents or products, which will result in a process improvement, solve a technical problem or allow production to be maintained. Take the lead in identifying process improvements through innovation. Take responsibility for project work and delivering documented solutions. To generate reports, including stability reports on work to support changes to production documentation. To complete production documentation according to the required quality standard. To be responsible for quality of work. To raise Non-conformance reports when required. To raise change notes as appropriate. To follow all applicable SOPs, safety rules and GMP. Responsible for familiarising and complying with all health, safety and environmental rules, policies, procedures and any other instructions relevant to working within their area of the company. To complete product and process training modules in a timely manner. To participate in training programmes as required. To ensure that all equipment used is within calibration and to take responsibility for calibrating items. Provide technical expertise in chromatography and related techniques for antibody and antigen purification. Good Interpersonal Skills for working directly with production staff and those of other departments to improve processes and find technical solutions. To train other members of the department in basic chromatography methods. To report any equipment failures to engineers and colleagues as appropriate. Good organisational and time management skills. A Team Leader reporting to the Technical Group Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the required antibodies are produced and processed by the dates agreed with the Technical Group Manager. A Team Leader reporting to the Manufacturing Group Manager will be responsible for ensuring that bulks are manufactured by agreed release dates, they will also be responsible for ensuring that stocks of appropriate standards are always available. Responsibilities also include allocating work to subordinate staff, training subordinate staff and for ensuring that procedures are performed correctly and safely. Are you looking for a new position within a pharmaceutical related company? Reporting to the Quality Control shift supervisor, this is an excellent opportunity to join a QC team in a GMP environment. The role requires quality control of packaging components, finished product, raw materials and intermediates.
